ProV1 for mid to high handicapper?
I usually play with the Titleist NXT and like it very much, but I have always been curious about what ProV1's will feel like and if they will help my game. I shoot in the high 80's to low 90's with a 90 mph swing speed. I dont have much for a slice anymore. Will I notice a difference with these balls and are they worth the extra money?
A ProV1 will certainly not hurt your game but i doubt it will help it. I doubt you would notice the difference in spin and feel from the NXT if you are a mid to high range handicap. NXT's are cheaper and in your case, probably will perform the same. I am a 17 handicapper and i originally used a ProV1 because i figured it was the best ball out there on the market for any golfer. I was wrong. I got better control on my drives and about 6 extra yards from switching to a Bridgestone e6+ ball (which i highly recommend). Check out the link below. It rates all of the balls from best to worst in their price range. The ProV1 may be the ball used most by the pros, but for your money, you are better off with a cheaper ball (like the NXT). A ProV will not automatically shave strokes off your game like everyone thinks. Best of luck. Hit 'em well.
