Please will new Mothers out there tell me about some of the joys of parenthood?
I never wanted a child but am newly married and have become comfortable/softer as Ive got older (35 now).
The downside is that all I hear about being a new mum is negative. I constantly hear that it is round the clock care, pregnancy is painful and labour 10 times worse, your figure is lost forever, everything sags, you dont have an identity, it is expensive, the baby cries non-stop e.t.c.
Ive even searched on the internet and again, it only came up with the challenges!
I would like to hear from Mothers who have been fortunate enough to have had a Baby. Please share the joy with me.
Yes it is all those things. But the greatest thing is a new life and you grew it inside you. Its amazing, and you soon forget the pain of labour etc.,The joy of a new baby looking at you so trusting and knowing that he/she is so dependant on you for everything. The feeling is so overwhelming. Your figure doesnot have to be lost forever not if you eat sensible and exercise, so take no notice of all those miseries and enjoy having a baby. Its the greatest gift you can ever have, treasure them once you have them, and the love and companionship will be with you forever.
