Should i get stiff or reg flex shaft?

Im about to buy a cleveland hibore xl tour driver. I have small slice in my drive, but usually is not bad and i hit fairways. Is the stiff flex easier to hit than the reg flex. And should i get fujikura red shaft or gold shaft?

Swing speed is the start of finding the proper shaft. Tempo is another. If you swing less than 100 mph and have a nice, smooth tempo, you'd be OK with a "R" flex. If you have that same 100 mph swing, but are herky-jerky, you could probably benefit from a "S".

The first tool is to help you find the right shaft, so long as you answer honestly. And a tip, courtesy of Tom Wishon: if you have two shafts that have the same characteristics, but only differ in price, go with the cheaper model- you won't get any more benefits by spending more money! Another tip: don't be surprised if the tool mentions different shafts with differing flex ratings... that's because there are no flex standards between the brands- some even between differing models within the same brand name!
